Smithville-Mary Irene Perkins, 96, of Smithville passed away December 14, 2016 at Lawrence Memorial hospital in Walnut Ridge. She was born October 7, 1920 to Robert Richard and Fannie Turnbow Taylor in Smithville, Arkansas.

She married Earl D. Perkins on October 10, 1948 in Strawberry, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and a member of Union Missionary Baptist in Smithville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Perkins; brother, Robert Wensel Taylor; and infant sister.

Survivors include her nephews, Lee Taylor (Betty) of Pocahontas, Jim Perkins of Smithville; and niece, Rita Wileman (Wayne) of Pocahontas.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10-11 am at Smithville Baptist Church. Funeral will follow at 11 am with

Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will be at Townsend Cemetery at Smithville with Cox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
