Dorothy Marie Cannady Evans, 82, a 35 year resident of Sherwood, Ark., died on June 10, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. of Parkinson's Disease. She was born on Dec. 6, 1928 in Benton, Ark., and Married Dell G. Evans on August 16, 1947.
On becoming an "Army Wife" she began to travel the world with her husband and children. She created 22 beautiful homes along the way in many parts of the United States and Europe. She was a member of the Sylvan Hills Community Church. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening and received some local notoriety for the beautiful Dickins villages she built and displayed in her home.
Survivors include her son, Victor Evans of Coral Springs, Fla.; daughter, Brenda Callahan of Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren, Blake Evans of Rogers, Ark. and Brooke Mountain of New York City; and great-granddaughters, Amelia and Ellory Evans of Rogers, Ark.
She was interred next to her husband at Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock on July 29, 2011. As a tribute to her life, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church St. Station, P.O. Box 780, N.Y., N.Y. 10008-0780.
