Walter Louis Lipscomb, 81, of Conway, died Monday (Dec. 8, 2003).
He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Conway, to the late Walter H. and Myrtle Chrouch Lipscomb. He was a graduate of Conway High School, attended Arkansas State Teachers College, entered the U.S. Army and served from 1943 to 1945. He received his B.S. degree in 1947 and his M.A. in psychology in 1950. He was a staff psychologist at the Arkansas School for the Blind in Little Rock and later with Arkansas Developmental Disabilities services. He was past president of Conway Jaycees, member of the Kiwanis Club and served on its board of directors and served as president of the Faulkner County Tuberculosis Association. He was also a member of the Conway Board of Realtors.
He is survived by a brother-in-law, Ernest Mann of Newport; and a nephew, Robert Mann of Vicksburg, Miss.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Marion Fleming officiating.
Pallbearers are Aubrey "Mert" Davis, George Potts, Bennie Docekal, Lynn Sellers and Joe Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Hammett, Cecil Smith, Allen Meachum, Elmer Graddy, Luther Copeland, Don Dixon, Oscar Hensley and Mike Cagle.
