John Lee Kelton, Sr. was the only child of Levi Burton Kelton and Mattie Effie Studebaker. He married Olene Merle Turner on January 1, 1922 in Conway, AR. A son, John Lee Kelton, Jr. was born on December 10, 1922 and a daughter, Martha Ann Kelton, was born on July 15, 1924. Olene became pregnant with twins and died on August 31, 1929 during childbirth. The twin boys are buried with her. John later married Helen Bertha Scholle on January 24, 1931. A son was born on October 21, 1931 and died two days later, most likely from incompatible Rh factor. John was the local agent of the American Railway Express Company in Conway, Faulkner Co, AR. The beautiful pocket watch he used at the railroad station remains in the family.

Mr. Kelton was preceded in death by his father and first wife, Olene. He was survived by his wife, Helen; mother, Mattie Effie Studebaker Crawford; daughter Martha Ann Kelton Starr; son John Lee Kelton, Jr. and grandchildren Mauda Kelton and T.L. Starr.
