Smithville- Mary Jane Tubbs, 88, of Smithville passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. She was born October 28, 1931 in Manila to Eual Busby and Ollie Dean Tucker Choate. Mary was a homemaker and was a member of Sedgwick Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Tubbs; and a sister, Joan.
She is survived by a sister, Eula Wheelis of Smithville; nephews, Mike Wheelis (Debbie) of Smithville and Terry Wheelis (Viki) of Bono; great nephew, Michael (Terran); great nieces, Miranda Wheelis (Kim) and Emily King (Nick); and great-great nephews, Xander and Layton; and many other great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2020 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with funeral following immediately after at 11 a.m. Dan Avery will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
