Irene Hughes, 88, of Drasco passed away December 17, 2015. She was born May 9, 1927 in Guy to the late Bill and Vivian Bearden Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her spouse, John Hughes; grandson, Chris Hughes; five brothers; and one sister. She was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Heber Springs.
Irene is survived by her son Cecil Hughes (Joyce); daughter, Glenda Barley (Paul); three grandchildren, Kevin Barley (Amy), Keith Barley (Louise), and Jeff Hughes (Jessica); four great grandchildren, Zach, Jake, Cody, and Cassidy Barley; four sisters, Bernadine Stevenson, June Brown, Gail Tuten (Junior), and Oda Mae Edwards (Jim); and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Greenbrier Church of Christ with visitation starting one hour prior. Interment to follow at Old Texas Cemetery in Guy. Dr. Bruce Bryant will officiate the service.
