Glen R. Wiles, son of the late Chris Wiles and Wilma Davidson Wiles, was born January 8, 1931 in Sage, Arkansas. He departed this life June 15, 2016 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 7 days. He was a 1949 graduate of Melbourne High School. He was proud to have served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Rosa Rhea Harris January 12, 1957 in Melbourne, Arkansas and to his union two daughters were born. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. His working years were spent raising cattle and hogs. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Glen is survived by his wife of 59 years: Rosa Wiles of the home; two daughters: Teresa Reeves and husband Dennis of Mt. Pleasant and Sheila Johnson and Wayne Langston of Melbourne; three grandchildren: Jennifer Rush and husband Steven of Melbourne, Heath Johnson and wife Lacey of Mountain Home and Kenny Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; seven great grandchildren: Chantal Johnson, Adam Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Maicie Rush, Ely Johnson, Ethan Johnson and Emma Johnson and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Frances Schulte.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 18 beginning at 12 noon at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with David Jennings and Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Doyle Watson, Kenny Johnson, Steven Rush, Arnold Harris, Dennis Reeves and Wayne Langston.
Honorary Pallbearers: Benny Johnson, John Teague, James Clark, David Clark, Doyne Langston, Bobby Harris, Tony Cooper, Adam Johnson, Dakota George and Harold Marlin.
