Edna was born in Plant Township, Pulaski County, Arkansas to parents Hugh Jackson Brannon and Lucinda, her maiden name unknown. Edna married William Iverson Jones November 4, 1874 in Faulkner County, Arkansas. They had six children. After William Iverson Jones' death she married William R. James August 23, 1908 in Faulkner, County, Arkansas. They were living separately in 1920, Edna was using the name of Jones and William R James,92, was living with a daughter-in-law in the same town. Edna also used the name Jones in 1930 and on her death certificate. The last name Jones is what is on her tombstone. Edna is not mentioned in William R James' obituary.
