David Ray Perkins, 36, of Guy, passed away on Sunday. Born on May 19, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of Robert and Lois Perkins. David worked in logistics for SEECO and had been a member of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
He is a graduate of Johnson High School of Saint Paul, Minn., Class of 1989, where he was active on the debate, dive and swim teams and the choir. He was awarded All-State Choir honors in CE88 and CE89. He later went on to study psychology and music at the University of Minnesota.
David's charisma made him a successful salesman, but his charm and genuineness made him loved by all who had the fortune of knowing him. He was always happy and the life of the party. He had an excitement and a love of life that was contagious.
David is survived by his previously mentioned parents, Robert and Lois Perkins of Guy; a brother, Stephen Perkins, his wife Shari and their two children of Crystal, Minn.; a sister, Angela Welch, her husband Brent and their five children of Little Rock.
David's grandparents, Fred and Genevieve Kellum and Marion and Lucille Perkins; and his sister, Natalia Perkins, precede him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. The interment service will follow at Old Texas Cemetery in Guy.
