*Obituary
Frances Whitten Phifer, 89, formerly of Conway, died Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2008) in Belleair Bluffs, Fla.
She was a graduate at Arkansas Teacher's College and began her career as an advertising art director for M. M. Cohn stores.
She married Ed Phifer of Little Rock in 1939. She had a second career in education, and retired as a primary school teacher.
She is survived by two sons, James and Jack; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
She will be interred at Oak Grove Cemetery.
