Mrs. Matilda Ann Thompson Carmichael, aged 84, wife of W W Carmichael, retired Conway grocer, died September 14 in the home of a daughter, Dr. Maude Carmichael, head of the department of economics at Arkansas State Teachers College.
Mrs Carmichael had been ill more than two years and her condition became critical a month ago.
She was born in Clinton, a daughter of the late Benjamin H and Susan Sellers Thompson.
She was married in 1886 and she and Mr Carmichael had lived together nearly 62 years.
She was a Methodist. Mrs Carmichael is also survived by another daughter, Mrs Edgar Martin, Hettinger, S.D.; and two sons, W W Carmichael Jr of North Little Rock and James B Carmichael, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Funeral services were at Conway Thursday
