Mary Lee Metzger, 92, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away on September 25th, 2014 with her family by her side. Mary was born July 6, 1922 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Charlie Wesley James and Minnie Lee Andrews James. Mary was the second oldest of 10 children born to Charlie and Minnie.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Oscar Metzger to whom she was married to for 55 yrs. when he passed away in 1996. Her son Oscar Lee Metzger of Houston, Texas also preceded her in death when he passed in December of 2012 at the age of 69. Tragically Mary also endured the loss of 4 brothers and 3 sisters over the years.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Betty White and her husband Earl; both of Clinton, Arkansas, sisters, Dean Ellis of Little Rock and Martha Whitlock of Beebe. Also surviving at the time of her death are six grandchildren: Sharon Bradley Osborne and husband Gary, Bob Bradley and wife Brenda, Debra Metzger Ayres and husband Gary, Twila Hayward, Jennifer Morrison Jordan and Kristopher Metzger. Mary was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was a very hard worker who retired from Timex Corporation after 37 years of outstanding, dedicated service. Mary's strong work ethic extended far beyond her timecard punches at Timex. Mary's true passion was working for the Lord. One glorious day Mary accepted the Lord into her life alongside her sister Wilma and ever since that day she has been a devout United Pentecostal servant who has spread the word of the Lord and worshiped him faithfully for 69 years! Mary was honored by United Pentecostal Church International with a letter of recognition on November 6, 1999 for being regarded as an excellent prayer warrior as well as a dedicated Sunday School Teacher. Mary was so driven to share her love for the Lord that she traveled extensively looking for any opportunity she could find to stop and minister to others by singing, playing her instruments and preaching to a full congregation when asked. Mary truly lived her life for her Savior Jesus Christ and her family.

We want to thank the Ozark Home Health & Hospice of Conway for the level of care provided during her bout with Alzheimer's.

The family will receive visitors at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas between the hours of 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, September 28th, 2014. Services will be held at Conway United Pentecostal by the Reverend Gene Sorrells and Reverend Larry Pearce at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 29th, 2014. Internment will take place at the Mayflower Cemetery.
