Kenneth Dale Barton

Kenneth Dale Barton, 86, of Powhatan, passed away Oct. 9, 2016, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Born March 18, 1930, in Black Rock, he was the son of Albert and Ella Davidson Barton. He was a welder and a member of the New Life Gospel Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William Lawrence "Buck" Barton.

Survivors include his wife, Allie Jane Pickney Barton, whom he married July 18, 1953; two sons, Gene Barton, Phoenix, and Wayne Barton and wife Tracey, Redwood City, Calif.; two daughters, Lin Eagan, Jonesboro, and Marie Woods and husband Steve, Powhatan; six grandchildren, Jerry Gilliam and wife Deborah, Kenneth Gilliam and wife Pim, Shawn Barton and wife Regina, Natosha Ward and husband Jason, Brandon Woods and Travis Barton; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service was Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock with Bro. Wayne Bryant officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice or to The Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge.

Allie Jane Barton, 86 of Powhatan; died April 11, 2021 in the NEA Baptist Hospital.

Born October 28, 1934 in Black Rock; daughter of the late Harry and Gertie Emmerton Pickney. She was united in marriage to the late, Kenneth Dale Barton on July 18, 1952. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, wood working, gardening, and canning her own harvest.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth in 2016; and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Gene Barton of Phoenix, AZ and Kenneth Wayne (Tracy) Barton of Redwood City, CA; two daughters, Dianna Lin Eagan of Jonesboro and Marie Ann (Steve) Woods of Powhatan; six grandchildren, Jerry (Deborah) Gilliam, Kenneth (Pim) Gilliam, Shawn (Regina) Barton, Travis Barton, Natosha (Jason) Ward and Branden (Megan) Woods; ten great grandchildren; one brother, James (June) Pickney of Powhatan; three sisters, Wanda Ragsdale of Black Rock, Betty (Larry) Monehan and Ruby Putt all of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Oak Forrest Cemetery in Black Rock with Bro. Roger Brand officiating.
