Mrs. Eddie Bills Hicks, 82, of Prairie Grove died Oct. 25 at her home. Born Jan. 22, 1897 at Lepanto, she was the daughter of Collet and Amanda Spicer Davis. She was a member of the Church of Christ and retired in 1969 as an employee of Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Bills of Tulsa, Okla., and J.C. Bills of Palmdale, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Lavina Newingham of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Marion Crews of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Luginbuel Funeral Home, Prairie Grove, with John Dockery and Cliff Palmer officiating.

FAYETTEVILLE — Lavina Newingham Florio, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, after increasing long-term health issues. She was 91.

Born in Keiser, Ark., on Oct. 2, 1921, to Eddie and Olpha Dills, her early life and school years were spent in Parma, Mo. She spent much of her life in Chicago and Springdale, Ark. She was an active member of Cross Church Springdale. She was an avid traveler, enjoyed her canasta group and spending time with family and friends.

Lavina was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Newingham; her second husband, Gene Florio; siblings, Curtis Dills, JC Dills and Ruth Ferguson; daughter, Eddie Jane Doster; son-in-Law, Larry Doster; and great-grandson, Matthew Anderson.

She was the beloved mother of Doug (Jan) Newingham; loving grandmother to Debbie (Steve) Anderson, Tracy (David) Zurborg, Travis (Elizabeth) Doster, Mike (Kari) Newingham, Curt Newingham and Ashley (David) Bednash; doting great-grandmother to Katie and Emily Anderson; Andrew, Philip and William Zurborg; Mike, Megan and Molly Newingham; Samuel and Nicholas Doster; and Matthew and Maggie Bednash.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Sisco Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Charlie Foster and Ken Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
