Verna Love age 74 of Batesville died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at a Batesville hospital. She was born October 3, 1939 at Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to J.B. and Veta Mae (Henderson) Gordon. She was a school teacher having taught for the Batesville School District for 22 ½ years as a 6th grade science teacher. She was a member of the Independence County Master Gardeners, Eastern Star and Alanon. She was also an artist. She was a member of the Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 34 ½ years, Bobby Love of the home; two sons, Cliff Hebisen of Margate, Florida and Troy Hebisen of Floral; two sisters, Dora Dean Wilf of Searcy and Patti King of Pleasant Plains; two step-daughters, Deborah Love of Batesville and Rebecca Utz of Gulf Shores, Alabama; six step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville.


Pallbearers will be Cliff Hebisen, Troy Hebisen, Jason Wilf, Tim Wilf, Jake Wilf and Denny King. Honorary pallbearer is Stephen Downs.
