Atha Aleta Moore Turner, 89, of Melbourne, daughter of the late Grover and Bertha Shannon Moore, was born April 9, 1913, in Stone County, Ark. She departed this life on Aug. 28, 2002, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was married to Cecil Turner in Larkin, Ark. in October of 1932, and to this union, three children were born. During her working years, she was a mother, housewife, homemaker, and grandmother, and also helped Cecil at the locker plant. She was of the Methodist faith. When she was living in Arkansas, she attended the church at Larkin.Survivors are two daughters, Glenna Blount of North Little Rock, and Marvine Foster of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Tanya Turner, Billy Turner, Crystal Turner, Dennis Walker, Teresa Whitehead, Tim Hamilton and Pam Dunlap; 12 great-grandchildren, Lindsey Walker, Jessica Trout, Kyle Walker, Adam Whitehead, Cody Whitehead, Chandler Hamilton, T. J. Dunlap, Shannon Dunlap, Jacob Turner, Dustin Turner, Brayden Turner, and Taya Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Chaney Trout; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Larry Turner; one sister, Girtha McCollum; and one brother, J. C. Moore.
