ROGERS — Joyce Marie Brace, 52, of Rogers died on Jan. 15, 2014, after her valiant fight with cancer.

Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through seven months of grueling treatment and suffering. Yet even throughout her own struggle with cancer, she reached out to others affected by the horrendous disease, and with the help of others knitted hats for women to have something to cover their heads and even just comforting others sitting nearby receiving their chemo treatments simultaneously.

Joyce was born on June 12, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to Clarence Edward Thomas and Bobby Jean Hall-Thomas, the youngest of five loving children.

Joyce is known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, and devotion to working with children for over 15 years with Rogers Public Schools. Yet even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Married for 33 years, Joyce and Rocky raised their two sons, Michael and Jerry. Possessing a true servant's heart, Joyce faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch and working as hard as she could to provide the best, willing to give anything to help anyone. A woman of faith and the heart of the Brace family with a real zest for life. Joyce loved to dance, go to concerts, play games/cards and do crafts — especially with her grandchildren, she chatted with friends and family, and travel — just to name a few.

Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include: husband of 33 years, Rocky Dean Brace; mother of two children and spouses, Michael and Rebekah Thomas, Jerry and Amanda Brace; grandmother to six, Mackenzie, Alexis, Tanner, Maiya, Lane and Kaitlynn; immediate family; preceded in death, mother, Bobby lean Hall; father, Clarence Edward Thomas; and brother, Dennis Thomas; two brothers, one sister and spouses, Larry and Marlene Thomas, Terry and Brenda Thomas, Brenda and Carl Thomas; other family members, unfortunately too many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews to list or even count.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers, with Pastor Jim Keith officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Garfield.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home.
