Herman Alfred "Pete" Hogan, age 94, of Conway passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at his home.

He was born January 24, 1910 in Mt. Vernon to the late William Monroe Hogan and Maud Sanders Hogan.

Mr. Hogan was an oil jobber, a service station owner and operator, and a cattleman. He was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion and the Blinded Veteran's Association, and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sybil Lewis Hogan of Conway; three nephews, Monroe Lee Hogan of Conway, Carroll W. Lewis of Conway, Fred E. Lewis of Chino, CA; and two nieces, Betty Hogan Gibbs of Holland and Barbara Lewis Talmud of Conway.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway with Fr. Warren Harvey and Chaplain John Lewis officiating.

Visitation is Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Pallbearers are Joe Lee, Mike Gibbs, Clint Hogan, W.C. Swaffar, John Irby, John Duke, and Joey Lee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blinded Veteran's Association, P.O. Box 25126, 155 Vangordon Avenue, Room 352, Denver, CO, 80225.

Sybil Lewis Hogan, age 97, of Conway passed away at Conway Regional Hospital on Monday January 5, 2015. She was born May 2, 1917 in Sparkman, AR to the late Fred Earl Lewis and Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Herman “Pete” Hogan, and two brothers, Fred E. Lewis, Jr. and Cecil W. Lewis.

She is survived by a niece, Barbara Lewis Talmud (Maurice), two nephews, Carroll Wayne Lewis and Monroe Lee Hogan (Bernadean) of Conway and two great-nephews, Kevin Lewis of Chino, CA and Michael Lewis (Trina) of Victorville, CA.

She graduated from Sheridan High School at the age of 17 at which time she briefly attended Missionary Baptist College before moving to Conway with her parents, where she continued two years of college education at Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA), majoring in Library Science. After marrying her husband in October 1939, she quit college to begin a working career. Sybil worked for the Arkansas Agriculture Department for several years before beginning 28 years working at Ward Body Works (Bus Company) as a secretary in the sales department. She retired at age 65. Sybil was a lifelong church member, first joining the Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan at age 11 and then transferring her membership to First Baptist Church in Conway. She was a faithful and loving friend to all and she was loved by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501-327-7727), with Pastor Kyle Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Monroe Lee Hogan, Maurice Talmud, James Hendrickson, James McGowen, Robert Raney, and James Moseley. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
