Bonnie L. Rains Herring Hurst 100, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
She was born January 18, 1916 at Enola, Arkansas to the late John Alfred "Fred" and Bessie (Tate) Rains.
Bonnie comes from the roots of true grit. She was the third of 7 children. From the time she was a little girl, there wasn't a job she wouldn't tackle. She thought she could do anything her big sister Mildred and her big brother Leonard could do. Bonnie and late husband, Sanford had a country store in Republican on Hwy 65 and they also raised chickens for market. After Sanford’s death, Bonnie met and married Henry Hurst while she worked at UCA. She worked in the cafeteria there for 17 1/2 years. She was a loving and caring lady as she cared for her parents and her sister Hazel when she had breast cancer. Bonnie always enjoyed having her grandchildren come and stay with her in the summer. She was a member of Sunny Gap Baptist Church in Conway.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; two sisters, Mildred Pauline Williams, Hazel Irene Cossey; three brothers, Leonard Raymond Rains, Leon Raymond Rains, Jerome Clarence “JC” Rains; stepchildren, Chloa Henson and Danny Joe Hurst.
She is survived by her son, John R. Herring; one granddaughter, Leslie Thomas; three grandsons, Roberts W. Herring, Timothy C. Herring, Richard Jones; one sister, Martha Adelle Rains Shemwell; two step daughters, Bobbye Dicken, Bonnie Williams, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers will be Randy Williams, Terry Hurst, Jim Williams, Stewart Main, Waylon Van Winkle and Devin Herring.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Shemwell, James Woodworth, and Jack Mace.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, August 21, 2016 and Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Monday,
August 22, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, Arkansas with Pastor Jeffery Thomas officiating.
Interment will follow in Martinville Cemetery Damascus, Arkansas.
Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Conway, Arkansas.
