Emmett the son of Everett and Pansy (Taylor) Akley. Ella Virginia the daughter of James and Daisy (Henson) Chambers.


Ella Virginia Chambers Akley, 87 of Sedgwick, passed from this life on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born January 14, 1929 in Rolla, Missouri to James and Daisy Henson Chambers. She was a resident of Rolla until the age of 57 when she moved to Sedgwick and lived out her remaining years there. Ella was a homemaker and loving mother who enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She was of the pentecostal belief.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmett Akley; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survived by her son, Wesley Akley and wife Sue; daughter, Barbara Pankey and companion William Gandy; grandsons, Claude Akley and wife LeighAnn, Louis Bone, Travis Pankey; granddaughters, Amanda Mathis and husband Michael, Marsha Pankey and companion Jackie Caplinger, Sheila Shockley; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson.

Funeral Services: Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with Everett Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Old Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation: Sunday, from 2-4:00 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers: Travis Pankey, Louis Bone, Michael Mathis, Claude Akley, Gary Maxwell, Jeff Moskop.
