FORT SMITH - Velda Glenn of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Fayetteville, the daughter of E.J. and Ida McChristian Mosteller.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Austin Glenn and Rex Coleman.

She was a homemaker and attended Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

She is survived by three daughters, Kay Marts of Fort Smith, Judy Rogers and her husband, Frank, of Fort Smith, and Debi Kirkpatrick and Mike of Fort Smith; a son, Bill Coleman and his wife, Valarie, of Fort Smith; a sister, Donna Miller of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Gerald Mosteller of Fort Smith and Jerry Mostella of Coffeyville, Kan.; four grandchildren, Kim Oxford, Jamie Teague, Gentry Duncan and Baylie Kirkpatrick; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Bartholomew, Dallas Oxford, Coleman Teague, Corbin, Evie and Brody Duncan; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Wilda was a longtime resident of Fayetteville, where she worked in the restaurant business with her two sisters-in-law, Robbie Selle and Edith Olivera. She touched many hearts and made many friends as she was well-known for her fun-loving and mischievous spirit. She was actively involved with and adored by her large, extended family. To us, she was "information central," the glue that held us all together. Our hearts are desolate without her.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 5, at Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, with burial at Buckner Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
