James E. (Jim) Foreman, age 70 of Conway, Arkansas died Friday, December 8th, 2006. He was born May 6th, 1936 in Searcy, Arkansas to the late Earl H. and Myrtle Mae Plant Foreman. His son also preceded him in death: Doug H. Foreman. Jim was a resident of Conway since 1943 and attended Conway Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1957. He worked as an Automobile mechanic for GM dealerships before opening Foreman’s Garage in 1968. Later he owned and operated a tractor-trailer leased to Melton Truck Lines. At the time of his disability he was employed at Hendrix College. Jim also served two terms on the Conway City Council so during his C.B. radio days he was known as the “Politician”. Jim enjoyed antique cars, flying, hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding but his main enjoyment came from auto racing. He raced stock cars, sprint cars, midgets and drag cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was able to attend some NASCAR races the past year. His favorite driver was #24, Jeff Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Royann Falls Foreman, his son: Brian and his wife Donna; one granddaughter: Kayleigh Foreman and one great-grandson: Austin James Foreman all of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Other survivors are sister: Blanche Ball and husband Derwin of Greenbrier and brother: Charles (Sonny) Foreman and wife Helen of Dayton, Texas. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family that will miss him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., December 12th at Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway (501.327.7727) officiated by Dan Newsom and Frank Eichenberger with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Don Avra, Jim Decesard, John Guthrie, Ken Jones, Steve Luyet, David McKim, Ricky Mahan and Alan Rail. Honorary Pallbearers are: Cheryl Rogers, Brandi Glass, Cindy Bawden, and Blair Speer. A special thanks to Cindy Bawden and Blair Speer of Hospice Home Care for all they have done in the past year also thanks to the staff at Hospice Home Care In-patient Unit. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 821A Northcreek Dr., Conway, AR 72032 or a favorite charity.
