Lena Pearl Curtis Hiett Watts, 83 of El Dorado, AR, died on Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness. Born on December 28, 1927 in Winston County, MS; she was the daughter of James O and Nancy Lou Ella Mixon Curtis. In her youth Lena played basketball and later enjoyed bowling and golf. She also enjoyed dancing with her senior friends The Silver Kickers. Lena had retired from both Murphy Oil and ConAgra. She was a member of Joyce City Baptist Church. Lena was preceded in death by her parents and 13 siblings. Survivors are a daughter Brenda (Butch) McCoy of Monroe, LA, a son Derry (Marcia) Hiett of Calion, a brother Doris (Jean) Curtis of Meridian, MS, her former husband Dick Hiett of Calion, along with 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m, Friday, February 18, 2011 in the chapel of Bailey Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Odom officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
