James Thurman Stinson, 80, of 120 W. Center St., died Tuesday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. Born Aug. 11, 1888, at Hamburg, he was the son of Mack and Sarah Jane McCoy Stinson. A resident of El Dorado since 1941. Mr. Stinson was a retired building contractor. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Wincie Morgan Stinson; one son, John W. Stinson of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Rubye Lee Womack and Mrs. Flora Mae Hines, both of El Dorado; a brother, W. J. Stinson of Huttig; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. C. C. Grace officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Garden under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Mr. Stinson's grandsons: W. L. Womack, LaMar Womack, Louie Hines, Clarence Parks, Alvie Foster and Dowan Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class, First Assembly of God Church. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. (El Dorado Times - May 20, 1969)
