Mary Kate Alene Moon, 98, Rose Bud passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was born February 29, 1916 in Romance, Arkansas to the late Edmond Hamburg and Nellie Macy (Coston) Rogers. Mary treasured her children. She raised them almost entirely by herself do to the illness of their father. She was a hard worker spending time picking cotton in her younger years. Mary retired from the International Shoe Factory where she had worked for 18 years. She loved sports. She was a Razorbacks fan and made Razorback quilts for all her grandchildren, she also loved to go bowling. Mary loved her church; she was a member of Mt. Bethel Freewill Baptist Church as well as a member of the Eastern Star of Romance. She enjoyed reading novels, crocheting, flower gardening, and do paint by number pictures. Mary had a little dog named, Benji whom she loved dearly. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Robert Moon (Patsy) of Richardson, Texas, William Moon (Helen) of Ward, Arkansas, and Ham Moon (Donna) of Rose Bud, Arkansas; one daughter, Mary Kay Parish (Dwaine) of Pryor, Oklahoma; two brothers, Carl Rogers (Georgia) of Romance, Arkansas, and JP Rogers (Shirley) of Beebe, Arkansas; three sisters, Ruth Cowgill of Searcy, Matilda Brownd (John) of Newport, Arkansas and Imogene Reames of Romance, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Irl Moon; one daughter, Patsy Darnell; five brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6th at Mt.
