Earnest C. Blanton, 86, of Fayetteville, died this morning in a local hospital. Born Dec. 22, 1887 in Lyeene, Kan., the son of Chris and Angie Dodd Blanton, he was a retired carpenter and a Baptist.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Lillie Blanton of the home; two sons, Lloyd of Rockford, Ill. and Carl of San Jose, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Carmon Friedman of Stockton, Calif., Mrs. Cleffie Franke and Mrs. Johnnie Rommel of Fayetteville, Mrs. Edith Hickey of San Jose and Mrs. Sue Coffey of Hickman, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Goshen Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillie Blanton, 85, Fayetteville, died Jan. 28 at her home. Born Aug. 11, 1892, in Birdell, Ark., she was the daughter of Willeston and Susan Jane Bennett Bates. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Blanton of San Juan, Calif., and Lloyd Blanton of Memphis, Tenn.; five daughters, Carman Friedman of Stockton, Calif., Mrs. Edith Hickey of San Juan, Mrs. Emma Sue Coffey of Hickman, Ky., Mrs. Johnnie Rommel and Mrs. Cliffie Franke of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Nelson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lloyd Blanton Jr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lynville Eaton. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery under direction of Nelson's.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Rommel, Bates Franke, Jerome Rommel, Harold Coffey, Lloyd Blanton and Carl Blanton Sr.
