Wanda Doshier
of Yellville
Wanda Doshier, age 87 of Yellville, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on September 4, 1921, at Yellville, Arkansas the daughter of Ancil and Alie Page Smith.
On August 20, 1938, she married Altus “Shorty” Doshier. She had a career as a beautician in the Yellville area. She was a member of Yellville United Methodist Church and was active in the UNW. She was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Chapter 202.
Survivors include her husband, Altus of the home; son, Kenneth Earl Doshier of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Suzanne Thomason of Ft. Smith, AR; sisters, Mary Frances Clem of Yellville, AR and Marcelle Pyle of Ruston, LA; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was held Sunday, November 30 between 3:00 & 4:30 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nick Lascaro officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Doshier, Gary Clem, Craig Doshier, Reid Downey, Verl Doshier and Sterling Barnhart. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Smith, Dr. Robert Ahrens and Clyde Doshier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Yellville United Methodist Church or charity of choice.
