Mr. JC Wallis, age 85 of Calico Rock, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his home. He was born July 9, 1928 in Stone County, Arkansas to William Henry and Gladys (Sneathern) Wallis. He married Lavon Martin on August 20, 1949 in Marion County, Arkansas. He was a member of the Mason Kamiah Lodge # 56 in Kamiah, ID, and the Rizpah Shriners in Madisonville, KY. He had worked several years in the construction trade, and had worked for the Dravo Groves Construction Company before retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Wallis is survived locally by his wife Lavon, daughters Janet Wallis of Calico Rock,Twylla Boling and husband Lee of Napavine, WA, Lequeta Fifield and husband Steve of Spokane, WA, and Teresa Boling and husband Gene of Pe Ell, WA, a sister Johnnie Audeoud and her husband Robin of Mountain Home, a brother TC Sneathern of Mississippi, three grand children, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce Gray, Zelta Williams, Paggie Jones and Anna Mae Cantrle Span, and brothers Horace Sneathern and Darlis Sneathern.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from Noon until 9:00 P.M., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Galatia Cemetery in Norfork.
