Horace Edward Grisham, 74, of 840 Rock Island Ave., died unexpectedly Thursday in a local hospital. Born in Calhoun County on May 12, 1894, he was the son of William and Sarah McManus Grisham. He had lived in El Dorado for more than 42 years and was a retired carpenter. Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Grisham of Monroe, La.; three brothers, William Luther Grisham of Springhill, La., Henry Sanford Grisham of Lake Charles, La., and Clarence Homer Grisham of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ivy McKinney of El Dorado and Mrs. Vala Newton of Magnolia; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. (El Dorado Times - January 3, 1969)
