Helen Dorothy Simpson, 92, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on August 7, 1921, in Michigan to the late Noah and Lula Thomson. She was united in marriage on September 11, 1941, to the late David E. Simpson.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: David E. Simpson; two sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by her son: David Simpson and wife Theresa of Jonesboro; daughter: Janie Rogers and husband Dennis of Ohio; one brother: Tuck Thomson; five sisters; five grandchildren: Cody and Jamie Simpson, Casey and Jade Simpson, Megan and Danny Oracion, Angela and Chris Pilz, Ashley Rogers; seven great- grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Saturday February 22, 2014, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in. A celebration of her life followed at the chapel with Bro. Barry Joiner officiating. Interment was held at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector under the direction of Irby Funeral Homes.
