Mavis Travillian, 97, of Houghton, MI., died at Delaware House, Portage Pointe on Sunday, April 28th 2013.

She was born in Kennett, Missouri, on June 2, 1915, to the late Clarence and Hettie (Davis) Glover.

Mavis married G. Doyle Travillian in 1934 in Rector, AR. They later moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was employed for many years by Goodyear's Department Store, and raised their family.

She was a life- long member of the Methodist Church and involved in women's groups and activites. She loved to bake, sew, play bingo and go fishing with her husband and son. After the death of Doyle in 1959, she married M. Joel Travillian in 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Besides her parents and husbands, Mavis was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis and son-in-law William Wolfe, her step son William Travillian, her sisters: Virginia McAllister, Vera Terbaville and Jean Hollyburton, her brothers: Charles, Eldon and Paul.

She is survived by her brother James (Peggy) Warren of Nimmons, Arkansas, her son, Jack (JoAnn) Travillian of Houghton, sister-in-law: Norma Glover, sister-in-law: Lorene Gatewood, step son, Robert (Mary) Travillian, daughter-in-law: Betty Travillian.

Mavis was very proud of her six grandchildren: Robert Travillian, Heather (William) Porter, Diana McPherson, Pam (Greg) Drzymkowski, Leah (Mark) Hoffman and Dayna (Brent) Watson: nine great grandchildren: Jennifer Travillian, Justin Travillian, Christopher McPherson, Jacob McPherson, Michael McPherson, Nicholas Porter, Kyle Porter, Sarah Porter, and two great-great-grandchildren: Logan Travillian and Ryland McPherson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and good friends: Norma Whitehead, Mary Ness and Carol McElroy.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock. Local announcements were by: Funeral Arrangements were by Irby Funeral Home of Rector.
