James Lawrence the son of Sanford Frank and Leona Elizabeth Handwork Grayson.
Delores Grayson, 76, of Corning, died Thursday at her residence.
Mrs. Grayson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning and was retired as a sales clerk for the Ben Franklin Store.
On Dec. 24, 1947, she married James Lawrence Grayson.
Other survivors include three daughters, Lynne Hall of Corning, Peggy Stanley of Hot Springs, Ark. and Gayle Felton of ElDorado, ark.; one son, Larry Grayson of Jonesboro; two sisters, Nita King and Lois Olsen, both of Puyallup, Wash.; one brother, Carl Porterfield of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. The funeral service was at 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Corning.
Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's Hospice.
Lawrence Grayson
James Lawrence GRAYSON, Corning, was born in Corning Sept. 22, 1921, son of Sanford Frank and Leona Elizabeth Handwork GRAYSON. He died in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Dec. 7, 2008. He was 87.
Retired maintenance supervisor for Riceland, he was of the Baptist faith. On Dec. 24, 1947 he married Delores Bertha PORTERFIELD who preceded him in death Dec. 12, 2002.
His hobbies included woodworking.
Survivors are one son Larry GRAYSON, Jonesboro; three daughters Lynne HALL, Corning, Peggy STANLEY, Hot Springs and Gayle FELTON, El Dorado; three grandchildren Danea HALL, Alissa SCOTT and Anna GRAYSON; two great-grandchildren Haley and Kathleen SCOTT.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Delores; son Lloyd GRAYSON and sisters Mable SPENCE and Mildred RYAN.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny SIMPSON and Rev. Sunny WILLIAMS officiating. Burial in Corning Cemetery under the direction of ERMERT Funeral Home.
Pallbearers, Bo HUBBARD, John HERREN, Jim VANNADA, Terry RAPERT, Tom GRAHAM, Brad SCOTT. Honorary pallbearers Tim BIPPUS, Donnie LITTLE, William McMILLAN, James BLAGG and E.J. BROOKS.
