WINSLOW — JoAnn Reed Short, 74, went to be with her heavenly Father on Oct. 23, 2008, in Shawnee, Okla. She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Oklahoma City to Charles Ted and Helen M. Holt Becker.
She was a retired lunchroom administrator for Winslow schools and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 39 years, Wallace E. Reed.
Survivors include her husband, Don Short of Shawnee; her mother, Helen M. Becker of Oklahoma City; a son, Wallace Ted Reed and wife Karen of Sheridan; two daughters, Roxie Miller Johnson and husband Phil of Springdale, and DiAnna Preston and husband James of Winslow; a brother, James Roy Becker and wife Carol of Oklahoma City; a sister, Marvel Miller and husband Irven of Del City, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Donna Coulson and husband Dennis of Tecumseh, Okla., and Brenda Pederson of Rogers; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Winslow First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Parks Cemetery in Winslow under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel.
