Wilbur Henry Bolding, 79, died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his home in Huttig.

Born March 14, 1935, in Bolding, Arkansas, he was the son of James Thomas and Gertrude Lancaster Bolding of the Bolding community. He graduated from Huttig High School and from Southern State College, where he played baseball.

Wilbur retired in 1994 from Plum Creek Forest Products. He served on the Huttig School Board from 1969 to 1989. He was ordained as a deacon in 1969 at the First Baptist Church in Huttig, where he served for 45 years. Wilbur refereed basketball in Little Rock for a number of years before moving to Huttig, and coached all three of his sons in Peewee baseball at Huttig. Wilbur enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a long time member of the Bolding Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Charles and Herschel.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Roberts Bolding, of Huttig; three sons, Mark Bolding and spouse Colette of Pittsburgh, PA, Tim Bolding and spouse Kandy of Midland, TX, Stan Bolding and spouse Lisa of Harrison, AR, one daughter, Rebecca Lake and spouse Keith of Reno, NV; sister, Louise Bolding Seymore and spouse Jim; sister-in-law Betty Bolding, four grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, Kelly and Brooke; One great-grandchild Dawson and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.

Visitation will be at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado on Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Huttig with the Rev. Todd Gunter officiating. Interment following the service will be at Old Lapile Cemetery.
