November 1, 1895 - December 5, 1964
William A. "Bill" Bolding, 69, of 506 N. Mosby St., died Saturday in his home. Mr. Bolding was born on Nov. 1, 1895, the son of William James Bolding and Arminthea Ellis. He was a retired candy manufacturer and had lived in El Dorado for the past 40 years. Mr. Bolding was a veteran of World War I, a member of the First Baptist Church, a past state commissioner of the VFW, a member of Roy V. Kinard Legion Post No. 10, a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star No. 280, a 32nd degree Mason of Lodge No. 13 F and AM, a life member of the Shriners of the Scimitar Temple in Little Rock, a member of Gen. Compere's Bible Class and a deacon of the First Baptist Church. He was an active member of the El Dorado Boys Club, member of the board of trustees of the Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, had been an alderman on the City Council for the last seven years and was the holder of extensive amounts of real estate. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Erie Lloyd Bolding of El Dorado; one son, James T. Bolding of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Brenda Colleen Bolding, Diane Lynn Bolding and John William Bolding, aqll of El Dorado; three brothers, Joe Bolding of Judsonia, Ark., C. T. Bolding of Alma, Ark. and Joe Bolding of Judsonia; four sisters, Mrs. Alferd Sims of Searcy, Mrs. J. A. Talbott of Bald Knob and Mrs. C. L. Crow of Roseburg, Ore. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Young's Chapel with Dr. Don Harbuck and Rev. Sam Sheppardson officiating. Burial followed in the Arlington Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by Masonic Lodge 13 F and AM. Pallbearers were J. G. Thomas, Roy Goudy, Sr., E. W. Sewell, Thomas Reeves, Frank Morgan, J. Alva Waddell, Victor Dumas and Stanley Nash. Honorary pallbearers were Andy Stafford, Cecil Kellum, Melvin Green, J. S. Thomas, Dr. F. L. Irby, Gen. Compere's Bible Class, El Dorado City officials, the El Dorado Police Department, VFW No. 2413, Roy V. Kinard American Legion Post No. 10 and Masonic Lodge 12 F and AM.
