Funeral services for Arzella Lee age 95, of Malvern, Arkansas who died December 29, 2012 at her residence in Malvern will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at First Missionary Baptist Church Rockport, with Dr. J. N. McCollum pastor officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Locust Bayou, Arkansas with Brandon’s Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Arzella Lee was born May 16, 1917 in Hampton / Locust Bayou, Arkansas to the parentage of the Late Eugene and Cordia Strong Ashley.
Arzella moved to Oakland, California where she met and married the late Jimmy Lee who predeceased her. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Oakland, California, before moving to Malvern, Arkansas where she united with First Missionary Baptist Church Rockport under the leadership of Dr. J. N. McCollum in the late 1980' s where she served in the Missionary Society, and Sunday School Class Believers.
She was a homemaker, and was predeceased in death by her husband, parents one brother and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories five sisters: Asree Bradley of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Ruth Rogers of Kansas City, Missouri; Iola Rogers of St Louis, Missouri; Bernice Goodwin of Detroit, Michigan and Flossie Penigar of Flint, Michigan, Nephew and caregiver Cedric (Edith) Jenkins of Malvern, Arkansas
Visitation for family and friends will be today from 5 until 6 PM in the chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary, Malvern, AR
