Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ashby Funeral Chapel in Benton for Mrs. Maudie Pruett, age 61 of Benton, Wednesday, April 19, 1967 who died at a Little Rock hospital following a brief illness. She was the sister of Virgil Ritter of this city.
Mrs Pruett was born at Edgemont in 1905, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ritter. She left Heber Springs in 1938 and had resided in Little Rock and Benton since that time. She was a Baptist and a devoted wife and mother and a kind and helpful neighbor who will be missed by her many friends as well as members of her family.
Survivors include three sons, J. C. of Kansas and Henry and Troy Pruett of Bauxite; three daughters, Mrs. Emma Mann of Kansas, Mrs. Willie York of Bauxite and Mrs. Edna Ivy of Benton; another brother, Irvin Ritter of Washington; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Horton of Marshall, Mrs. Noel Stafford of Kansas, Miss Junie Mae Ritter and Mrs. Letha Young of Little Rock and Mrs. Esther Coleman of Missouri.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. at the Davis Special cemetery near Edgemont. Pallbearers were Don Stark, Leo Westerman, Troy Davis, Orville Gentry, Turner Gentry, Orville Westerman, and Harlan L. Baldwin.
