Glenn Harry Porter, 54, well-known independent oil operator, died unexpectedly at his home on Calion Road Monday at 2:30 a.m. A resident of El Dorado for the last 28 years, Mr. Porter was born in Antigo, Wisc., June 24, 1910. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Velma Farquhar Porter; two sons, Glenn Harry Porter, Jr of Fort Smith and Jack Porter of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Short, Jr. of Beebe and Mrs. Sam Trinca of Fayetteville; his mother, Mrs. J. M. Nicholas of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Oliver and Mrs. Raymond Sturkey both of Houston; and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rumph Mortuary.
