Earnestine Dykes was born on October 20, 1932 in El Dorado, Arkansas the daughter of James Clyde and Tina Gill McDuffie. She was educated in the El Dorado School District and retired from the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

She was married to Joe H. Dykes and to this union nine children were born which included two sets of twins. She professed Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.P. Johnson. She was an active member and president of Circle Ruth, former member of the Untied Voices, Kitchen Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry and other Church ministries and received several bible study certificates.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eraline McDuffie, her husband, Joe H. Dykes, two daughters, Peggy Dykes Bailey and Helen Jeanette Dykes Thurman.

Affectionately called and know as Mother, Muddie, Aunt Mother and The Mother, her memories will be cherished by her children; Janice Dykes Gardner of El Dorado, AR, Saundra Dykes Hughes of Houston, TX, Carolyn Dykes of El Dorado,AR, Sheryl Dykes of Little Rock, AR, Sheila Dykes Jones(Leslie) of Melbourne, Fl, Stephen Dykes(Teri) of Little Rock, AR ans Stephanie Dykes of El Dorado, AR; Cousin Helen Davis Hobbs of New Mexico and her extended family, Walter Bailey, Jr. William Shorter, Alfriza Moore and her neighbors and their children.

Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church-Cordell, 620 Cordell, El Dorado, AR with Rev. Pierce Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, AR under the directions of the Sims Mortuary Staff.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, December 4, 2015 from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday, December 5, from 8:30 to 9:30am.
