Jerolyn Perdue Hurst, 73, of El Dorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born February 22, 1937, in El Dorado, to Fred Walker and Diamond Pepper Perdue. A life-long member of Marrable Hill Baptist Church, she began playing the piano there at age 12, and continued until the last few years. She was a dedicated Christian who led many people to the Lord, serving as Sunday School and Training Union teacher and participated and taught for many years in the Community Bible Study.
As a dedicated wife to a career military man, she made a home for her family in many states and two foreign countries.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Rex Donald Hurst, an infant son, Fred Mark Hurst, her parents, a brother, Glenn Walker Perdue and a sister, Martha Ann Dickson.

Survivors include two sons, Donald (Cindy) Hurst, David (Martha) Hurst of El Dorado, three daughters, Sandra (Gary) Kirklin of Cabot, Brenda Hurst Fulco of England, Anita (Mike) Stevens of Smackover, and a brother, Charles W. (Bettie) Perdue of El Dorado. Also surviving are two brothers-in law, R. David “Buddy” (Jane) Hurst, of Branson, MO, Richard Lynn (Rosemary) Hurst of League City, TX, and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Hurst of Sherwood, AR, and Pat Honeycutt of Spring, TX. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who know her as “GaGa”.

The family would like to express our love and appreciation to her care-givers for the last nine months, Loretta Tubbs and Ree Tubbs

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, July 1, at Young’s Chapel.

Funeral will be Friday, July 2, at 2:00 pm in Young’s Chapel with Bro. Charles Ainsworth officiating. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
