Cloa Mimigene Crotts Carter Cason, 75, of Smithville died September 26, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born November 13, 1936 at Petit Jean Mountain to Troy Elijah Crotts and Mattie Marie Hubbard. On April 20, 1981 she married Luril R. Cason in Marshall. She was a homemaker and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Therman S. Carter; sons, Therman Carter, Jr. and Albert Dean Carter; grandchildren, Kari Massey and Donnie Hall; brothers Norben and Forest Crotts.

Survivors include her husband, Luril R. Cason of the home; daughters, Shirley Ann Naylor (Bill) of Harrisburg, Connie Sue Hall (A.D.) of Black Rock, Imogene Walters (Gary) of Indianapolis, IN; stepchildren, Doug Cason, Becky Cason, and Kathy Cooper all of Tuckerman; a brother, Edward Earl Crotts of AR; sisters, Flora Mae Bowden of AR, Patsy Ann Frank of CA and Sherry Lynn Bartlett of AL; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday 11:00 am at Townsend Cemetery in Smithville with Jim Huskey officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Coby Poe, Stephen Poe, Trevor Poe, Marty Chaplin, Shawn Higginbotham, James Ruple. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Cason, A.D. Luril Cason
Born: April 24, 1942 Died: February 10, 2016

Tuckerman – Luril Ray Cason, 73 of Tuckerman, departed from this life Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at St. Michael’s Place in Newport. He was born on April 24, 1942 in Newport to James Austin and Edna Bell Lawson Cason. He was a member of the Tuckerman Free Will Baptist Church. He worked for Arkla for many years and retired from the City of Black Rock. Luril enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bingo, telling jokes to his family and friends, and loved visiting with the “Cason” boys. He will always be remembered by this quote: “Always Hoe Your Own Row”.

Preceding him in death were: his parents; his wife, Cloa Mimigene (Crotts) Carter Cason; and sister, Twilla Jean Cason Jones.

He leaves behind one son, Doug Cason of Tuckerman; daughters, Kathy Cooper and Becky Cason of Tuckerman; sisters, Dorothy Travis and Linda Miller of Newport, grandchildren, Tierani Tryon, Ashli Tryon, Brady Cason, and Carly Cason; great grandchildren, Kwinten, Eli, and Erica Barrington; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 10 am – 11 am at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 at Townsend Cemetery in Smithville with Jason Sullivan officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scotty Cason, Rusty Jones, Joey Miller, Nicky Miller, Scotty Miller, and Lewis Wilson.
