She was the daughter of Thomas and Malinda White Pearson. She was the wife of Wiley Croom. Sarah's maternal family was very active in building early towns (such a Knoxville, TN) as far back as 1791. There was also senators and prsidental candidates in the family. Her maternal uncle, Hardy White moved AR and the town of Hardy in Sharp Co. is named for him.
