Mrs. Bessie Pearl Gathright, 65, died at her home in Huttig Wednesday. She was born Aug. 17, 1903, in Strong, the daughter of Jimmy and Alice Smith Phillips. She was a member of the Huttig Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, D. P. Gathright of Huttig; four sons, Cecil Gathright and Doyle Gathright, both of Huttig, J. D. Gathright, Marion, La., and James Gathright of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Holley and Mrs. Floyce Scheet of El Dorado; 24 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Huttig Assembly of God Church at 3 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in the Strong Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The body will remain at the funeral home until noon Thursday. (El Dorado Times - January 9, 1969)
