October 9, 1895 - June 17, 1967
Mrs. Bessie Little Hendrix, 71, of Strong, died Saturday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was a native of Strong and a member of the Strong Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, W. T. Little of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. E. J. Whatley of El Dorado and Mrs. Shirley Howell of Dallas, Tex.; two brothers, Claude Cobb of El Dorado; Travis Cobb of Strong; three sisters, Mrs. Jim McKinney and Mrs. Ila Colvin, both of Strong and Mrs. Rufus Ely of El Dorado, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m at the Strong Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hall officiating and assisted by Rev. S. M. Williamson. Burial will be in the Strong Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Active pallbearers include John Lee Jones, Grady McMath, Charles Lewis, Corbit White, Billy Ray White and M. M. Lewis. The body will be taken to the home at 9 a.m. Sunday and will remain there until service time. (El Dorado Daily News - June 18, 1967)
