ELLIS, Mabel STAFFORD - Mrs. Dr. Ellis of Hindsville died at six o'clock Tuesday evening. Her death was wholly unexpected as it was supposed that she was recovering from an attack of illness with which she had been afflicted for some time. The remains were brought to this city on Wednesday evening and the funeral was held at the residence of John P. Stafford who was a brother of the deceased. Mr. Stafford and wife drove over to Hindsville in the morning, returning with the funeral cortege. The funeral services were conducted by Elder James Dodson. L. Beasly{sic} and wife of Cassville, the latter being a sister of Mrs. Ellis, were present at the funeral. After the services were concluded the body was laid to rest in the Bluff cemetery north of town. Miss Mabel Stafford was born in Springdale in 1862. She was married to Dr. E.F. Ellis of Hindsville in 1888. She leaves two children, a little girl aged seven and a little boy aged four. Her many friends will deeply regret the sad and untimely death which makes the two children motherless and while the father and other relrtives will never allow them to want for care and sympathy the loss of mother is one that can never be replaced.

Mrs. Mabel Ellis, wife of Dr. E.F. Ellis of Hindsville, died at her home after a short illness Tuesday, June 30th at 7 o'clock p.m. She was a daughter of Mrs. Mary Stafford and sister of Mr. John Stafford of this city and Mrs. L. Beasley{sic} of Cassville, Mo. Was born and raised in and near Springdale, obtained a good education and moved in the best society and was befittingly married to Dr. Ellis February 14, 1888, a man worthy of such a bride. To them were born two children, Forest and Earl, their ages being 7 and 5 years respectively. She was brought to Springdale for interment. Funeral services were held at the residence of her brother, Mr. John P. Stafford, conducted by Eld. James Dodson of the Primitive Baptist Church, after which she was conveyed to Bluff Cemetery and silently laid away to await the descent of her Lord and to be awakened by the trump of God to arise to meet her Lord. A great many sorrowing friends followed her to the grave which attests the high esteem in which she was held. She was just in the bloom of womanhood, being 34 years old the 8th day of last February. To the bereaved and disconsolate family I offer my condolence and sympathy. A Friend.
