Delton Orlando Heard, 68, Anaheim, Calif., died Wednesday morning in an Anaheim hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born May 29, 1902, at Leola, and was the son of Thel C. and Edna Brashears Heard. He had been a former resident of El Dorado, Norphlet and Smackover before moving to Anaheim in 1963. While living in El Dorado, Mr. Heard was owner and manager of Heard Motor Co. He was active in civic affairs and was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Men's Bible Class of the church. He was a member of the El Dorado Masonic Lodge No. 13 F & AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple of Little Rock. He was also a member of the South Arkansas Shrine Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rosa Stephens Heard, Anaheim; two sons, William Neal Heard, Sepulveda, Calif.; and Capt. Robert Delton Heard, U.S. Air Force, Omaha, Neb; four brothers, Crawford Heard, Bakersfield, Calif., Mavis A. Heard, Hollywood, Calif., Granville C. Heard, El Dorado, and El Roy Heard, Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Floy Miller, Pine Bluff, and Mrs. Thelma Reeves, Leola; four Grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of El Dorado with Dr. Don Harbuck, the Rev. Sam Reeves and the Rev. Gerry Heard officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Masonic Lodge No. 13 F&AM. The family will be at the Granville C. Heard residence, 1505 W. Faulkner St. The body will arrive in El Dorado at noon Friday. (El Dorado Times - January 14, 1971)
