ELLIS, Martha STEARNES - Died at her home on White River in Benton county on the 15th inst., Martha Ellis, wife of Edward Ellis and daughter of S.S. Stearnes of this county. It is the privilege of one who knew and loved her from childhood to offer this tribute to her memory. All whose happiness it was to know Mrs. Ellis can only remember her as a woman of strength of mind unusual - a better daughter could not be found, a devoted wife and loving self-sacrificing mother and friend. She had been a member of the Christian church since 1859. S.H.
