Mrs. Carrie Sweet Hansen, 79, of Rt. 4, El Dorado, died Tuesday night in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 29, 1892, in Columbia County, she was the daughter of James W. and Jane Taylor Thomas. She had been a resident of El Dorado since 1928 and had operated a ceramics business in her home for a number of years. She was a member of the North Highland Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, William K. Hansen of El Dorado; three sons, Kenneth W. Sweet and Walter Roy Sweet, both of El Dorado, and Woodrow W. Sweet of Junction City; four daughters, Mrs. Allie Tolliver, Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Thelma Randolph and Mrs. Evelyn Hansen, both of Little Rock, and Mrs. Lolia Mae McCutcheon, El Dorado; four brothers, James Thomas, Noble, Okla., J. R. Thomas, Smackover, I. W. Thomas and L. E. (Buck) Thomas, both of Springhill, La.; two sisters , Mrs. Bethel Keith, Springhill, and Mrs. Erma Toombs, El Dorado; two stepsons, Paul J. Hansen, Pulaski, Tenn.; four step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lucas, Houston, Tex., Mrs. Myrtis Nash, Woodard, Okla., Mrs. Dorothy Chambers, Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Esther Rapp, El Dorado, 39 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. at North Highland Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Murphy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery on the Junction City Highway under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - September 15, 1971)
