Monteen Yancey Nixon, 88, of Mayflower passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. She was born June 3, 1922 in Quitman to the late Roy Oliver Yancey and Addie May Yancey.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William “Lin” Nixon. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church at Mayflower.

Survivors are 3 sons, Roy L. Nixon and wife Sue of Harrison, Larry M. Nixon and wife Jan of Clinton, Joe S. Nixon and wife Judy of Jacksonville, daughter, Bobbie Smith and husband Larry of St Augustine, FL; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Forrest Yancey of Mt Vernon.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, (501) 327-7727 with burial in Springhill Cemetery at Greenbrier. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Michael Nixon, Travis Nixon, Dwayne Nixon, Roy Nixon, Wayne Nixon and Tony Long.
