Mrs. Etta Riggs, aged 70 years, mother of Glenn Riggs of the Callison & Riggs Undertaking Co. of Springdale, died at her home in Rogers Monday afternoon following a short illness. Funeral services and burial were held at Springdale Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Etta Riggs, 70 years old, died at her home at 117 South Fourth street shortly after noon Monday following an illness of less than a week. Mrs. Riggs was stricken ill last Tuesday night and her condition gradually grew worse until her death Monday. Mrs. Riggs was born in Ohio on July 29, 1862 and was married to James M. Riggs Dec. 27, 1882 at Ashley, Mo. Mr. Riggs died in 1925. Mrs. Riggs moved to Arkansas in 1908 and came to Rogers about 10 years ago from Springdale. Mrs. Riggs is survived by six sons, R.E. Riggs, Sullivan, Mo.; O.S. Riggs, Redlands, Calif.; H.S. Riggs, Wellington, Texas; Glen Riggs, Springdale and J.B. and W.R. Riggs of Rogers; and three sisters, Mrs. Maude E. Smith, Mexico, Mo.; Mrs. W.P. Kerr, New Hartford, Mo. and Mrs. H.J. Hawks, Rogers. R.E. Riggs came to Rogers last week but was called home because of illness in his family. Funeral service was held from the Methodist Episcopal church, South at Springdale at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. E.H. Hook, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Conner Morehead, pastor of the Rogers Methodist church. Burial was at Springdale with A.D. Callison in charge.
